Child Friendly Railway Station
The Railway Children Surveillance and Protection Mechanism is a Systemic intervention of surveillance for a protective environment for children that identifies, rescues,reintegrates, reunifies and rehabilitates children found on railway platforms through networking and collaborative action. The mechanism has reached out to nearly 8000 children since 2002 and continues to reach to many more every day. The model is recognized as a Best Practice Model for rehabilitating children found
in need of care and protection at the Railway Platforms and has led to make Lucknow
a Child Friendly Railway Station!

In July, 2015 the Ehsaas initiated the Railway CHILDLINE which is a 24-hour, toll free,emergency phone,outreach service to ensure Care and Protection of Children in contact with Railways linking them to long-term services for their care and rehabilitation. Railway CHILDLINE is an initiative of by Ministry of Women ad Child Development and Railway Ministry led by CHILDLINE INDIA FOUNDATION (http://www.childlineindia.org.in/1098/1098.htm ) at the National level . Ehsaas is glad to become a member of the huge CHILDLINE family as the collaborating agency at both Northern and North Eastern Railway Station at Lucknow. This partnership has strengthened our efforts and helped us reach out to many more children. Nearly 800 children every year!!
