We pray for the well-being of all as we progress on this initiative to rescue and empower underprivileged street children.
Ehsaas stands for developing a society and systems that are child friendly and protective. To that end, we strive to make sustainable right based interventions at children level, society and family level and at the policy level to ensure all rights to children especially those who belong to marginalized groups. We don’t believe just in availing them a living, but in blessing them with a life.
In a society that is crept with child labour, abuse, trafficking and vagabonding, it is well worth remembering from time to time that “there can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children”. The seeds of today shall be the trunks of tomorrow that shall therewith bear the fruits of the future. I firmly uphold that a child is a flower that needs the love and care of nurture. Any child bereft of this is a blot on the escutcheon of the society.
Ehsaas originated with the realization that there are many children living in difficult circumstances where their rights are violated everyday and we owe to them a society and systems that are child friendly and protective so that they can live their life with dignity. Ever since its inception Ehsaas has done pioneering work in the field of Child Rights in the State of Uttar Pradesh. Over the years, Ehsaas has grown not only to intervene directly with children who are in vulnerable or difficult circumstances but also to build capacity with others who directly or indirectly work with children. As Ehsaas is involved in the issue of child rights at the child, societal, and state levels, it has been able to make a dent, but we are fully aware that there is a long journey ahead of us. We hope to develop self-sustainable and long term programs.
